Biography
Dean Ramos grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated in 1996 with a B.A. in Fine Arts from North Park University on the north side of Chicago.
Ramos attended The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, from which he received his M.F.A in 2002. Over the next several years he was represented by the Richard Levy Gallery in Albuquerque and the Klaudia Marr Gallery in Santa Fe. In 2006 he moved to Oceanside, California, having accepted a full-time position as an art instructor at MiraCosta College. He resides and has a studio in Vista, California.
Ramos’ sculptures, paintings, and works on paper may be found in the collections of museums including the Koumi Machi Kougen Museum of Art in Koumi, Japan, the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the State Street Corporation in Boston, Massachusetts, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Center in Chicago, Illinois, and numerous private collections
